Address it.

You can’t hide from it – and you don’t want to. This is all most people are thinking about. They’re checking Instagram and Facebook and they expect companies they support to CARE. They notice if you’re continuing to post and promote like nothing is wrong.

You can never please everyone, so you should be careful about WHAT you share and say – but I highly recommend you address it. To the left, you’ll see what I posted on Instagram to address Covid-19 concerns! I’ve also added a Covid highlight to my stories so it can still be viewed after 24 hours. 

 

  Do address it calmly and diplomatically. Spreading fear or panic is a bad idea. You just want to let people know that you care, that you’re human too, and you’re in this with them. 

  Do be real + genuine. You’re a real person + you’re allowed to have an opinion and feelings! People can tell when you’re speaking from the heart about what you care about/believe in. 

   Do be careful with what facts you present. If you happen to be wrong and people notice, you might get called out for spreading “misinformation”. 

 Don’t push your own agenda. You can let people know what YOU’RE personally doing, but it’s probably best not to tell others what to do. 

 Don’t let it be all that you talk about. Sometimes the best thing you can do is provide a light, normal space where people can forget about the madness going on. Speak on the virus when it feels right and follow your gut, but make sure not to over do it. 

 

BE CAREFUL WHEN RUNNING SALES

I’ve seen a few companies running sales capitalizing on the virus. “Quarantine Sale!”, an add preaches. This is just a NO. 

Be wise about your spending. Don’t STOP spending, simply focus on needed investments, rather than WANTS.
